A Slice of Death - a Cosy Crime story

It is June 1967, and we are at the Cropton Netherwell village fete. It is a lively, happy event, but the following day, a much loved grandmother is found dead.

When it becomes clear that this is murder, the victim's daughter, Yvonne (a spinster lady with an interesting past) and grand-daughter Jenny (a second-year student at the local university) vow to find the perpetrator.

They enlist the help of friends and colleagues, and gradually peel back layers of village life, gossip, and family secrets to discover "who done it". They are lucky enough to have the assistance of PC Mike Logan, who takes more than a bit of a shine to Jenny.

But there is also something worrying at the local Estate, and PC Logan has to spend some of his time investigating what's going on there. An night of terror, an adorable labrador and an unexpected reconcilation drive both stories on to their conclusion.
