Nothing looks better on a banana loaf cake, or a chocolate spice loaf or a simple plain loaf cake than a silky shiny chocolate ganache topping.
It looks posh, elegant, expensive!
And complicated!
But it isn't! Thanks to the microwave it can be atop your cake in a matter of moments!
Ingredients
200g dark chocolate (and yes I do use the cheap stuff!)
50g unsalted butter
120ml milk
Method
Break up the chocolate into squares
Put everything into a microwavable bowl - not too small!
Use a "melt" or "low" 200w setting on the microwave and heat at 15 second intervals until the chocolate is melted
Take out of the microwave and stir till nicely combined and glossy
Allow to cool, stirring occasionally
Use and enjoy!
See, I told you! Easy!!
