Nothing looks better on a banana loaf cake, or a chocolate spice loaf or a simple plain loaf cake than a silky shiny chocolate ganache topping.

It looks posh, elegant, expensive!

And complicated!

But it isn't! Thanks to the microwave it can be atop your cake in a matter of moments!

Ingredients

200g dark chocolate (and yes I do use the cheap stuff!)

50g unsalted butter

120ml milk

Method

  • Break up the chocolate into squares

  • Put everything into a microwavable bowl - not too small!

  • Use a "melt" or "low" 200w setting on the microwave and heat at 15 second intervals until the chocolate is melted

  • Take out of the microwave and stir till nicely combined and glossy

  • Allow to cool, stirring occasionally

Use and enjoy!

See, I told you! Easy!!
